TV ONE CELEBRATES THANKSGIVING WITH FAMILY, JOY AND LOTS OF MUSIC, INCLUDING BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK AIRINGS OF CINDERELLA STARRING BRANDY AND WHITNEY HOUSTON, PLUS A THANKSGIVING NIGHT FULL OF MUSIC’S BIGGEST STARS, INCLUDING MICHAEL JACKSON, BEYONCÉ,

-- Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” airs at 1, 3 and 5 PM Thanksgiving Day, followed by an encore presentation of the “Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Celebration” at 7 PM and midnight, plus “TV One Night Only: Live from the Essence Music Festival” with Beyoncé at 9 PM, and two half-hour Maxwell specials at 11 and 11:30 PM (all times ET) --

Silver Spring, MD - TV One celebrates Thanksgiving weekend with a schedule full of family, fun and lots of music, including the TV One premiere on Thanksgiving Day of the fantasy musical film, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, starring Brandy and Whitney Houston in this Updated version of the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the classic fairy-tale, with an all-star, multi-racial cast.  TV One will air Cinderella  three times back-to-back at 1 PM, 3 PM and 5 PM ET. 

Also on tap for Thanksgiving weekend on TV One (all times ET):   

 

  • On Wednesday, November 25 at 8 PM, TV One prepares viewers for Thanksgiving with the airing of the family film Soul Food, starring Vanessa L. Williams, Vivica A. Fox, and Nia Long as three sisters in average African American family in Chicago.  In the film, Matriarch Mama Joe has held her family together for 40 years around a Sunday dinner of soul food. When diabetes hospitalizes her, the dinners stop and tensions among her three daughters start to break the family apart.  An encore airing is scheduled for midnight and again on Sunday, November 29 at 9 PM.

  • In addition to Cinderella, TV One has programming scheduled to keep viewers 'Home for the Holidays' and in the holiday spirit all day Thanksgiving Day and thumping to a music beat throughout the evening. The day begins at 6 AM with a sitcom marathon consisting of Thanksgiving themed episodes of TV One sitcoms Half & Half, Martin, The Hughleys, Living Single, Good Times, and All of Us.

  • At 7 PM and midnight, the music keeps on flowing with an encore presentation of the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Concert featuring performances from Usher, Whitney Houston, Maya, Luther Vandross, the Jacksons, and the late King of Pop himself Michael Jackson.   

  • At 9 PM, the all-music Thanksgiving continues with an encore broadcast of the original concert special TV One Night Only: Live From The Essence Music Festival, featuring main stage acts taped live from the 2009 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, LA.   This TV One two-hour music extravaganza features performances from Beyoncé, Charlie Wilson, Al Green, John Legend, EnVogue, and more.

  • At 11 PM, the chart topping neo-soul sensation Maxwell comes to TV One in two music specials -  
      • First at 11 PM, TV One airs an encore broadcast of Maxwell 5 Days of Night, a first person account of the inspiration and creative process behind R&B neo-soul superstar Maxwell's long-awaited trilogy, Black Summer's Night.   
      • Then at 11:30 PM, TV One airs an encore broadcast of the music special Maxwell: A Video Journey that features classic and current Maxwell music videos.

  

  • On Friday, November 27 beginning at 6:30 AM, stand-up comedy takes center stage as TV One presents an all-day catch-up marathon of its original comedy series Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes as the series concludes the semi-finals and starts the road to finding this seasons Jokes Champion. 

  • Friday, November 27 beginning at 2 PM, TV One presents a marathon of all of season 2 of the original music-bio series Unsung featuring the stories of Florence Ballard, Teena Marie, Klymaxx, Minnie Riperton, and more. The Bootsy Collins episode of Unsung wraps up the Unsung marathon from 9-10, followed by the documentary about his amazing mentor, James Brown: The Man, The Music and The Message.

  • Friday, November 27 beginning at 11:30 PM, it's a Holiday Comedy Mega-thon as TV One airs 24 hours of holiday-themed episodes of TV One sitcom favorites including Martin, Good Times, The Jeffersons, Eve, Amen, The PJs, and more in this holiday comedy mega-thon event.

  

  • Sunday, November 29 concludes the Thanksgiving 'Home for the Holidays' Celebration with the encore airings of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella airing at 7 PM & 11 PM and Soul Food at 9 PM.
