Divine Restoration is a fun, feel-good series that
sees a church, a community and the Divine Restoration
team working together to complete a much-needed renovation project for a
deserving congregation. Combining great music and great energy with the
rousing vibe of a good old-fashioned barn raising, Divine
Restoration showcases the rich stories of each community in a
modern, entertaining way.
Hosted by Catherine Burdon and Jim Codrington,
each episode of Divine Restoration focuses on a
different African American or Canadian congregation, offering a helping hand to
complete the job. It culminates with the weekly service where members of
the church gather with the Divine Restoration
team to celebrate what a community can accomplish with a little hard work, some
old-fashioned neighbourly help and a lot of faith.
During the show you'll
meet the building committee, the minister and the members of the congregation.
You'll also see the step-by-step process of designing, building and putting the
finishing touches on each specific project. The breadth of the projects being
carried out is as diverse as the churches we profile, and include: soup
kitchens, prayer gardens, pastors' offices, classrooms, computer rooms, meeting
halls, dining rooms and more.
Divine
Restoration has traveled across North America to work with
churches in Baton Rouge, Halifax, Milwaukee, Toronto, Savannah, New York,
Orlando, Chicago and New Orleans, among other locations. Volunteers from
each church community contribute their time and efforts to the renovation work,
and local merchants help out by donating materials.
Whether it's a new
steeple or restored stained glass, an altar upgrade or a new Sunday school
center, on Divine Restoration the final "reveal" will
truly be a revelation!
