TV One salutes the accomplishments of Black Americans who
have succeeded against immense odds in the premiere of The 17th Annual
Trumpet Awards.
Hosted by comedian Sherri Shephard and actor
Anthony Anderson and broadcast from the magnificent Cobb Center in Atlanta, the
evening’s festivities start with a star-studded red carpet pre-show event,
followed by the awards ceremony.
This year's honorees include TV One CEO
Jonathan Rodgers, the Tuskegee Airmen, Raven Symone, Dr. Alvin Crawford, Earvin
"Magic" Johnson, Michael Roberts, Chief Richard Pennington, Chris Tucker and
Pastor Paula White. To top it off, TV One veteran’s Cathy Hughes and the Rev. Al
Sharpton are honored with a special induction into the Trumpets' Walk of
Fame.
